The Barnstable County Human Rights Commission Cornerstone Award is given to individuals recognized by their peers, community and associates as those who have fostered and supported human rights, concepts and ideals.
Penelope Duby of Falmouth, the chairwoman of the Cape Cod and Islands Commission on the Status of Women was given this award in December 2017.
“She is a true champion for women and those disadvantaged here on Cape Cod,” Alan R. Milsted Barnstable County Human Rights Commission Vice Chair said. “Her resilience and tenacity make her a tireless defender for all ages of the female population.”
